Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect my email and cloud storage?
Sign in, then click "Connect inbox" and "Connect cloud" on the dashboard. Gmail connects via one-click OAuth. Outlook and OneDrive ask you to sign in to Microsoft once, even if your browser is already signed in, so you can pick the right account. IMAP connects with host, port, username, and an app password. Google Drive and Dropbox connect via OAuth.
Does AutoFileEmail read the contents of my emails?
No. We use the sender domain, subject, and attachment metadata to decide where to file. We never read the body of your emails or the inside of your documents — and we never run OCR on them.
Where do my files actually live?
In your own Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive. We never hold a copy. If you cancel, your folders stay exactly as they are.
How does backfill work, and why is it a separate purchase?
Forward filing (new emails as they arrive) is free or included in Pro. Scanning your past inbox is heavy compute — API quota, bandwidth, vendor matching across years of history — so it is sold as a one-time pack: Tax Year ($29), 3-Year ($59), or Lifetime ($99).
What happens to filed documents if I cancel?
They stay in your Drive. AutoFileEmail just stops filing new ones. You keep everything that was already organized.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Billing and click "Manage Subscription". You can cancel anytime; your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.
