AutoFileEmail vs Zapier — which one fits how you work?
You can DIY this with Zapier. We did the work for you for less than the Zapier subscription.
AutoFileEmail
Email → your Drive
Zapier
Build-it-yourself filing
If you want files in your own Drive, you probably want us.
You can string together Gmail + Drive in Zapier. You will spend an evening building it, you will pay for the right Zapier tier, and you will still not have vendor recognition or a 30-day historical preview.
Side-by-side, line by line.
What each product actually does, what it costs, and where it draws the line.

When each one is actually the right call.
We'll be honest — Zapier is the better tool for a specific kind of customer. Just probably not the one reading this page.
You want a clean Drive, not another dashboard.
- You're a freelancer, solo founder, or consultant.
- Your accountant works from a Drive folder.
- You'd rather pay $0–$9 / mo than a heavier subscription.
- You don't want a vendor holding your filing system hostage.
You need what Zapier specifically does.
- You're already invested in Zapier's ecosystem.
- You need OCR-extracted data pushed into your books.
- Zapier's integrations cover tools you already use.
- Their pricing fits your budget.
What each one really costs.
Both products bury pricing differently. Here's the apples-to-apples for a single freelancer or solo operator.
AutoFileEmail Pro

- Up to 5 inboxes, 1 cloud destination
- Year-end ZIP export

Zapier

Already using Zapier? Here's the migration.
The switch takes about ten minutes.
Export from Zapier
Pull the originals (and any data) from Zapier's dashboard.
Drop into your Drive
Unzip into /AutoFileEmail/Receipts/ in vendor-named folders.
Connect AutoFileEmail
Two minute Google or Microsoft sign-in for forward filing.
Cancel Zapier
Forward filing kicks in. Files are already in your Drive.
Bring your existing library, keep your structure.
Most exports from Zapier map cleanly into our vendor-folder layout. New mail will file into the same structure going forward.

“Built a Gmail-to-Drive Zap. Maintained it for six months. Cancelled the day I found AutoFileEmail. The vendor library alone saved me an evening per new SaaS subscription.”
Honest questions.
How is AutoFileEmail different from Receiptor?
We do not run OCR or AI on your receipts. We simply file the attachment in your Drive, organized by vendor and date. That is why our forward filing is free and our backfill packs start at $29.
Where do my files end up?
Inside your own Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive — in folders organized by vendor and date. You own the folder structure, not us.
Do you store my email content?
No. We pass attachments straight from your inbox into your cloud drive. Nothing is mirrored on our servers.
How much does it cost?
Forward filing is free forever on 1 inbox. Pro is $14.99/month or $149/year for 5 inboxes plus advanced features. Backfill packs (one-time) start at $29.
